Understanding Your Water Bill
Water rates for both residential and commercial customers are based on billing units (One biliing unit = 748 gallons) and billing tiers.
-
Reference the appropriate customer sections below for calculation details.
-
Each tier builds on the preceding tier, so your water bill is commensurate to your water use.

Residential Customers
-
The first three (3) units of usage per month will be billed at the lowest tier 1 rate.
-
If your usage exceeds three (3) units but is less than twenty-five (25) units, these additional units will be billed at the tier 2 rate.
-
If your household uses more than twenty-five untits or 500 gallons of water a day, you may fall into all three tiers.
- A single 3/4 inch or 5/8 inch meter serving multi-residential units will pay the rates listed for twice the amount of water.
- The flat meter charge for a 3/4 inch and 5/8 inch meter is an additional $5.05 per month.
The first three (3) units of usage per month will be billed at the lowest tier 1 rate.

In a progressive rate structure, high water users pay more for a unit of water than those who conserve and keep their water use down.
