On November 14, 2006, the City Council selected Concept B, "Culture, Agriculture and Passive Use," as its preferred design/use concept for the Cuesta Park Annex site.

In approving Concept B as the preferred design/use concept for the site, the Council noted that the following details would need to be addressed when a more site-specific design for the site is developed in the future:

  • Type of turf that will be used in the meadow area and what activities can be accommodated on the turf area (e.g,. informal play, informal sports activities, etc.).
  • Size of the orchard.
  • Inclusion of a community garden element.

At its October 24, 2006, Study Session, the City Council reviewed and discussed the results of the Cuesta Park Annex master planning process and the Parks and Recreation Commission's preferred/prioritized use concepts for the Cuesta Park Annex site.

On September 13, 2006, the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed and prioritized the design/use concepts that were developed during the Cuesta Park Annex master planning process.

The results of the Commission’s prioritization discussion are as follows:

The Commission’s recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council. The date of the Council’s discussion of the Cuesta Park Annex master planning process and its results to date has not been finalized.

At its May 23, 2006 meeting, the City Council voted to keep the Cuesta Park Annex master planning process separate from the Recreation Plan development process.

On May 10, 2006, the Cuesta Park Annex master planning process was presented to and discussed by the Parks and Recreation Commission.

On April 25, 2006, the City Council authorized staff to enter into a consultant services agreement for the master planning effort.

At its February 28, 2006 meeting, the City Council approved a proposed master planning process for the Cuesta Park Annex site.

In late 2005 and early 2006, the City Council conducted two Study Sessions to discuss/refine a process for the master planning effort.
