Rules and Regulations

Shoreline is open daily from dawn to dusk
(City Ordinance Section 38.15)

1.

Willfully damaging buildings or property within Shoreline, including buildings or property belonging to lessees at Shoreline is malicious mischief and prohibited by law. (Penal Code, Section 594 and 622)

2.

Using motor-driven airplanes is prohibited except in designated areas. (Section 38.13d)

3.

Any gathering considered dangerous or a disturbance of the peace is subject to dismissal or cancellation. (Penal Code, Sections 415 and 416)

4.

Motor vehicles are allowed on designated roadways and parking lots only. (Section 38.13f)

5.

Beer and wine only are permitted within Shoreline by those legally entitled, except within 100' of all parking lots and roadways located therein. (Section 38.17a)

6.

Swimming and wading in any of the lakes, marshes or streams is prohibited. (Section 38.20d)

7.

Life jackets are required for Shoreline Lake use. (Shoreline Lake Regulation)

8.

Fishing shall be in designated areas only. (Section 38.20e)

9.

Power boats and rafts shall be excluded from Shoreline's lake, marshes and streams, except for official use designated by the Shoreline Manager. (Section 38.20a, f)

10.

Bicycle riders, hikers and joggers are allowed on designated trails only. (Section 38.20g)

11.

Skateboards are prohibited. (Section 38.20g)

12.

Barbecues and fires of any kind are prohibited. (Section 38.20l)

13.

Firearms or any other dangerous weapons are prohibited. (Section 38.13h)

14.

Domestic animals, including dogs and cats, are not permitted at Shoreline, with the exception of seeing-eye dogs under the control of a blind person and horses which are only allowed within designated areas of Shoreline. (Sections 38.13u and 38.20h)

15.

Do not remove, harm or disturb plants, wildlife or structures. (Section 38.20i, j)

16.

All feeding of wildlife is prohibited. (Section 38.20i)

17.

Overnight camping within Shoreline is prohibited. (Section 38.20m)

18.

Use of electric amplifying equipment in excess of 25 watts is prohibited. (Section 38.6a)

19.

Organized sports are prohibited except by permit in designated areas. (Section 38.13t)

20.

"Kite buggies"/wind propelled vehicles are allowed. (Section 38.13f)
