How do I know when my plans are ready?
You can call our 24hr plan check status line at (650)903-6369.  Information is updated every Wednesday and Friday.

How do I obtain a building permit?    
You can visit the Building Division in person or call (650)903-6313. The Building Division is open from 8AM-Noon and 1PM-4PM Monday through Friday and is located on the first floor of City Hall.

How do I schedule a building inspection?
You can call our 24hr inspection line at (650) 903-6371.

How do I schedule a fire inspection?
You will need to call (650) 903-6313, during business hours, and speak to the building secretary.

Who can pick up a building permit?
The owner of the property or a contractor licensed with the Contractor State License Board (CSLB).  The tenant of a property cannot pick up the building permit.

Who can submit for a building permit?
Anyone can submit but only certain individuals can pick up the permit.
