Officers

Police officers are the backbone of the police department, filling most key roles: beat officer, detective, patrol supervisor, SWAT team member, evidence tech and administrative management. Our officers come from diverse backgrounds: male and female, and different racial and ethnic backgrounds.

It's one of the toughest jobs there is. You have to be diplomat, investigator, leader, follower, fight stopper, fighter, psychologist, legal expert, customer service rep, evidence technician, soldier, first aid provider, guidance counselor, lie detector, negotiator, and be prepared to make life-or-death decisions in a split second. Oh, and, try to go home to your family with all the body parts you had at the start of your workday.

If this sounds exciting, please check out: Employment Opportunities. It's tough to find someone who can do everything a cop might have to do, so we're always looking for potential recruits.

What do cops do during their time off? How do they wind down?
Just like everyone else, our families tend to be the center of our lives. From coaching children's athletics to working on our houses, from helping with homework, to romantic dinners, you'll often find us with our loved ones. Many cops do a lot of physical activities, such as snow boarding, weight training, basketball, bicycling, and, of course, martial arts and shooting practice.
