The youth exchange program offers students who live in the Mountain View/Los Altos High School District the opportunity to develop an understanding of different countries,their cultures and people. 

• Iwata, Japan applicants must be entering their first year of high school.
• Students applying for Hasselt, Belgium must be a High School freshman when they apply. 

The Exchange Students are chosen by a committee through a selection process which may include group interview, individual interviews and/or home visits with their parents or guardians.  Each selected student will host a foreign Exchange Student for a 2 week period in July of the application year.  The following summer the Mountain View Sister City Exchange Student will be hosted by their exchange "brother or sister". 
 
Applications for the 2006-2007 school year opprotunities will be available by September 2006.
